Composer's Note:
I’ve also adored the jubilance of ‘Jupiter’ from The Planets, as well as Holst’s gorgeous theme from ‘I Vow To Thee My Country’ which he quotes within it. I wanted to maintain those epic elements and blend them with some more contemporary epic percussion and driving string parts, a slow and intimate viola solo of the theme develops into jubilant strings, before coming to a close with an unapologetically large and triumphant reharmonisation of those different Holst elements that I love from his original piece.
